Dizziness

Dizziness Causes

Dizziness is a symptom that has a number of possible causes. Vertigo in particular is commonly associated with standing or sitting up too quickly, inner ear infections, and motion sickness.

Other causes of dizziness include:

  1. Meniere’s Disease
  2. Migraines
  3. Very high blood pressure or low blood pressure
  4. Anemia
  5. Heart conditions including arrhythmias heart attack or arteriosclerosis
  6. Fainting (Syncope)
  7. Dehydration
  8. Hyperventilation and/or panic attacks
  9. Side effect for certain medications
  10. Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia)
  11. Excessive exercise
  12. Fever and nfections

Dizziness Symptoms

Tips for Preventing and Managing Dizziness

Experiencing dizziness is not only upsetting and disorientating, but it can also lead to serious falls or injuries and can be potentially dangerous if the underlying cause is left untreated. Consider the following if dizziness occurs:
  1. Sit or lie down immediately when you feel dizzy to avoid losing your balance or experiencing a fall.
  2. Do not drive or participate in hazardous activities such as operating any dangerous machinery, or climbing a step-ladder.
  3. Avoid substances such as caffeine, nicotine, salt and alcohol as they restrict blood flow and may worsen symptoms.
  4. Avoid sudden head movements and position changes by standing or sitting up slowly.
  5. Seek medical attention if dizziness is unexplained and persistent.

Dizziness Home Remedies

  1. Drinking a cup of hot water with two spoons of lemon juice gives instant relief from Dizziness.
  2. Drinking water mixed with lemon juice, Jaggery (gur) or sugar, Cardamom powder (elaichi) gives instant relief from Dizziness.
  3. Drinking Basil (Tulsi) Juice mixed with Sugar helps to get relief from Dizziness problem.
  4. Coriander (Dhania) seeds boiled in water with Sugar candy(Mishri),filtered and drinking this decoction gives instant relief from Dizziness.
  5. Two spoons of Carom leaves (Ajwain) juice taken everyday helps to overcome Dizziness problem.
  6. Taking pineapple pieces with Salt gives instant relief from Dizziness.
  7. Eating Gooseberry (Amla) with Sugar or eating its Murabba also helps to control Dizziness.
